Cookies Notice
Gecko is provided by Accelerize 360 and sets four cookies. All four are first-party, all four are necessary for the product to work or to remember a preference you set, and none of them is used for advertising, profiling or analytics.
There are no third-party cookies, no tracking pixels and no advertising network on this site. That is not a promise about the future — it is a description of what the code does today, and the table below is the complete list.
The cookies
| Name | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|
| __Host-gecko_session | Keeps you signed in to your Gecko account. Without it, every page would ask you to sign in again. | 30 days, or until you sign out |
| __Host-gecko_admin | Keeps a member of the Gecko team signed in to our internal console. It is never set on a customer's browser by using the product. | 7 days, or until sign out |
| __Host-gecko_staff_account | Set only when a member of the Gecko team opens your account to help with something. Your own audit log records it at the same time. | 1 hour |
| gecko-theme | Remembers whether you chose the light or dark appearance, so the page does not flash the wrong one. | 1 year |
Why there is no cookie banner
A consent banner exists to ask permission for cookies that are not necessary — chiefly analytics and advertising. Gecko sets none of those, so there is nothing to ask about. Refusing the four above would mean being unable to sign in.
If that ever changes, this page changes first and a banner appears with it. We would rather not need one.
Turning them off
Every browser can block or delete cookies for a site. Blocking Gecko's will sign you out and lose your appearance preference; nothing else depends on them.
